From the artist "I think it's easy to feel self doubt when you have a creative profession. Heck, it's easy to feel self doubt in any situation, even the platform I'm writing this post on [Instagram] foster self comparision. But I'd been particularly feeling it this spring and early summer for a few reasons.
During that little compicated mental segment, I made this. And I think it's one of my strongest pieces to date. Your mind is the biggest component to what you make, and when I look at this I can see all those insecurities laid on canvas, enmeshed with all the other components that absorb my mind when I'm painting (the sensation of swimming, the delight at the spectacle of the physical world, the uniqueness of the ripples of water, and the ceaseless challenge of trying to capture them). 
There's something deeply satifying about negative things you might be feeling leading to you strongest outcomes."
